Terms of Service for Ohana Connect
Effective Date: May 1, 2026
Welcome to Ohana Connect. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at myohanaconnect.com (the "Site") and the services, memberships, and community network provided by Ohana Connect ("we," "us," or "our").
Ohana Connect is a community-first business network operating as a Fictitious Business Name (FBN) registered in Siskiyou County, California. By accessing our Site or enrolling in a membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Description of Services
Ohana Connect provides a hyper-local business network dedicated to Siskiyou County and Mount Shasta. Our services include tiered business memberships, directory listings, access to the Ohana Card network (providing exclusive offers to customers), monthly networking events, and a peer-to-peer referral system.
2. Membership Eligibility and Enrollment
To be eligible for membership, you must be a business owner or authorized representative of a business operating within or serving Siskiyou County. We reserve the right to refuse membership to any business that does not align with our community-first values or safety standards.
3. Membership Tiers and Fees
Tiered Pricing (Monthly): Memberships start at $30 per month. Fees are billed on a recurring monthly basis.
Annual Membership Option (All Tiers): Members may choose an annual billing option for any membership tier (where available at checkout), which provides a discount equivalent to receiving two (2) months free compared to paying monthly for that same tier (for example, $300 per year for the Basic tier). Annual memberships, where selected, are billed in full at the start of the annual term.
Founding Members (Rate Lock): Individuals who join under "Founding Member" status are entitled to a rate lock. Your monthly membership rate will remain unchanged for the lifetime of your active account as long as your account remains active and in good standing (including no lapse in payment and no cancellation). If a Founding Member account is cancelled, expires, is terminated, or otherwise becomes inactive and later reinstated, it will be subject to then-current market rates.
Ohana Malamalama Contribution (Mission): A portion of every membership fee and merchant processing fee generated through our platform flows directly to Ohana Malamalama, our sister mission dedicated to affordable housing and family stability in Siskiyou County. By maintaining a membership, you acknowledge and support this community mission.
4. Payments, Cancellations, and Refunds
Automatic Renewal: Memberships are subscription-based and will automatically renew at the end of their respective billing terms (monthly or annual) using the payment method on file, unless canceled by you prior to your renewal date.
Cancellations: You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings or by contacting [email protected]. Unless otherwise required by applicable law, cancellation becomes effective at the end of your then-current billing period. To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, cancellations must be processed before your renewal date.
Refund Policy: Unless otherwise required by applicable law, membership fees are non-refundable and we do not provide partial-month refunds or prorations for unused time. You will retain access through the end of your current billing period after cancellation.
5. The Ohana Card and Referral System
Ohana Card (Platform Only): Ohana Connect provides the platform that allows participating local businesses to publish and promote discounts and offers through the Ohana Card program. Ohana Connect does not provide, control, endorse, or guarantee any products or services offered by participating merchants.
Merchant Responsibility: Business members participating in the Ohana Card program are solely responsible for (i) the accuracy of their offers, (ii) honoring the exclusive offers they list, and (iii) the products and services they provide. Ohana Connect is not responsible for the products or services provided by participating local businesses and is not liable for a merchant’s failure to fulfill an offer.
Referrals: Our referral system is built on community trust. Ohana Connect facilitates connections but does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by its members. Any disputes arising from business transactions between members or between members and customers must be resolved directly between those parties.
6. Code of Conduct
Ohana Connect is a professional and supportive environment. We maintain zero tolerance for harassment, "trolling," or defamatory behavior toward other members or the organization. We reserve the right to terminate any membership immediately, without refund, if a member engages in behavior that is detrimental to the community or violates the spirit of the Ohana mission.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including the Ohana Connect logo, directory structure, and brand assets, is the property of Ohana Connect and protected by intellectual property laws. Members are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Ohana Connect member badges and Ohana Card marketing materials for the duration of their active membership.
8. Educational and Informational Purposes; No Professional Advice; Affiliate Disclosure
All content and materials made available through Ohana Connect—including, without limitation, (i) guest presentations, workshops, talks, trainings, and events, (ii) resources, templates, toolkits, posts, and materials made available in any member portal or business portal, and (iii) any references to third-party products or services—are provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
Ohana Connect does not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, insurance, medical, or other professional advice. You should not act (or refrain from acting) based on any content provided through Ohana Connect without seeking appropriate professional advice from a qualified professional who is familiar with your specific circumstances. Your use of any information provided is solely at your own risk.
Affiliate Disclosure. The Site and/or member resources may include links to third-party websites, products, or services, including affiliate links, referral links, sponsorships, partner offers, discount codes, or other promotional arrangements (collectively, "Third-Party Links"). If you click on a Third-Party Link, sign up, or make a purchase, Ohana Connect may receive a commission, referral fee, credit, or other compensation (which may be monetary or non-monetary), at no additional cost to you (unless otherwise stated). Any such relationships may be selective and may change over time. Ohana Connect does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, offers, terms, privacy practices, or performance, and we make no guarantees regarding third-party products or services.
9. Limitation of Liability
Networking Platform; Third-Party Disputes. Ohana Connect is a networking and community platform. We are not a party to, and are not responsible or liable for, any interactions, communications, agreements, transactions, or disputes between (i) members, (ii) members and customers, or (iii) members and any third-party merchants or service providers (including Ohana Card participating businesses).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ohana Connect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your participation in the network, use of the Site, or transactions with other members or third parties. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you for your membership in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, with venue intended in Siskiyou County, California. Any legal actions or proceedings related to Ohana Connect shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Siskiyou County, California.
